I found a stock symbol DTF as Tax Free income inc from Yahoo finance.
Does that mean its dividend tax free? Where can I find the tax free
mutual funds that I can have tax free dividends ? When you trade mutual
funds, is the commission the same as you trade stocks, like $10.99 in
Etrade?

Thank you for your help!

In the drop down menu on the left, click on "Municipal Bond"
then click "show top 100"

Thank you Ed,
Do you mean the dividens/interests from all the Municipal Bonds are tax
free? How about the state municipal bonds such as "Eaton Vance Insured
NY Municipal Bond (ENX)", I am not a NY resident, do I have to pay
dividen tax for NY?

If you buy that fund the income will be tax free on the federal level, if
you have an income tax in your state you will have to pay taxes on it in
your state. Only NY residents don't have to pay tax on it. The income from
any municipal bond fund is federal tax free.

I should explain to you that only the income is tax free. Mutual funds also
distribute capital gains if they have them, these are not tax free.

Be sure to read all of the literature on that fund (or any fund) before you
buy it.

Thank you Ed, any recommandations for the tax free income funds?

Find one for your state or find a national one. I'm not an income investor
but that could be changing soon.
